I have two kins on the main on back to back about 12-13 feet out. They both were pollinated the same day 12 days ago the second one is starting to grow a little bigger 4" ott, better vine placement.longer stem. BUT it also has some splits in the stem and a few scratches on the pumpkin. will this kin over come these issues? or do I keep the first one? or do I concentrate on the third one a couple feet up the vine 7 dap and throw him in the race.

only my thoughts, i like the fastet growing, scratches will heal up. , but polinate the 3rd one and see if the others keep up or not, sounds like #1 is to slow

I agree with Just Bill.
I had the same scenario last year. Check this out. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=161667 If you go back a little in my diary, you will see that they were close in size when they were younger. When they are that close together, you can only set the vine up for one.
