I look forward to one day a year, regardless of rather or not I have a fruit! That day this year, is September 22, 2012. Well, what do you know, my sister has gone and set her wedding date for 5 pm, 5 hours away from our weigh in site. I'm pissed! So now I have to figure out exactly how this is going to go down. Be in Ocean Isle, NC Friday night, Elkin, NC Saturday morning, and have to leave the weigh in by no later than 10 am to be back in Ocean Isle with time to spare to be in the wedding?!?! If I have a contender fruit, it will be even worse. Gonna have to talk with the event coordinator on this one, to make sure we can do pumpkins last, since I know I won't have a contender in that category. HA! My life!

Tell her to reschedule.....if she wont then go have a life size cardboard cut out of yourself made so they can atleast have that at the wedding. We can't have a weigh off without ya...No if ands or buts..Tina and Frank...:)
And just so you know statistics today 8 out of 10 marriages end in divorce...Not wishing bad luck on your sis but her timing sucks....lol...Like Richard said..Tell her you love her and we will see ya at the weigh off.. :)

Just thought of a better idea.
Tell you sis to get married in Elkin. Brotherdave can marry them, they will have a couple 1,000 guest but they will not have to feed them, they wont have to decorate(they can use the stage decorations for that), there will be plenty of people taking pics so they wont have to pay someone to do that and best of all you will be at the wedding after all......Just think of all the money they will save...LOL...

Although I think we can agree the weighoff is more important, you COULD have someone weigh the pumpkin for you if the wedding date will not be changed or you feel you HAVE to be there.

The weigh off is every year. Unless your sister gets married every year, go to the wedding. I love this hobby too, but we do need to keep our priorities straight.

I Agree with ben. But just have someone put a phone by the speaker so you can use a earpiece. Just be careful yelling out if your weight get's beat. Nooooooooooo!!!....((((Sir why are you objecting)))):) It works for anniversary's and football games
