Most of my plants this year are shorter to the ground...all except my 1016 Daletas.... LeaveZ look tired already but are hanging in there.... Relief is on the way next week with a whole week of rain and much cooler temps. Will be interesting to see if the plant now changes...
Since we are having so much heat...beside burnt leaveZ...can we take anything away from this heat?

I have 2 plants one i started very early in march and one i started in april the march plant was very large and had some of its secondaries buried before the heat hit the other was around 10 foot long. The early plant looks great large leaves and if not for some of my mistakes i'd have a very large pumpkin on as it is i have 3 pumpkins right now all growing and looking good.
the late plant is exactly the same as your plants small to the ground leaves and it looks tired.
