anyone have any experience with 4 lobers being slower growers? My main vine sets on all 3 plants this year are 4 lobers and although the plants are big and healthy the pumpkins are well behind compared to years past when I had 5 lobers. I am comparing days from pollination to past years. It could be the lack of rain but i have been getting water to them, drip tape.

four lobe fruit will be just as productive as five or six.possibly the fruit are slower getting going because of other factors.weather-luck of the draw-soil-etc. once they hit 65-80 inches in circ they should take off though. remember they will not all be super stars either. pap
