Hi Everyone, I have a beauty on my 1789 wallace at 16-17' that I will pollinate in the AM. I got somewhat of a sneekpeek at it today and it looks as though it has 5 lobes with 1 or 2 being deformed. There is another one down the line that should open in 3-4 days and is at 19+' but I dont know if that one will be the same as the first. What is everyones thoughts (pros, cons, past results, etc). As much info as possible from the more experienced growers would be great.
Thanks! Martin

Martin, I am not very experienced, but deformed lobes aren't recommended and tend to have problems. BUT, if you have to go with it as I did, I grew the below off a very deformed lobe which ended up having a great shape. I had a similar post last year and Chris Stevens was the reason I did not cull due to his reply.

Well I looked at it this morning while pollinating it and for some reason there was a small hole where I think some bees have gotten into the female. 2 of the lobes next to each other were very twisted and messed up. Should I wait another 3 days and go with the one at arond 20 feet?

Pollinate everything on main. Make decision later. You still have plenty of time. I am still pollinating due to deformed things as well.
