I have a pumpkin that set on a 162 MacKinnon vine that started out very well, with a huge stem, but then developed a valley down its center along which it has split, even though it is also still growing. Should I cut this pumpkin off? There is another pumpkin on the same vine that is growing extremely well, beautifully shaped with no sign of a similar problem.
