Was wondering how aggressive growing the 1647 plant has been for growers this year. I had a seed but it was the only seed that didn't germinate for me this year.

My 1647 germinated but got frosted 2 nights in a row and never recovered.....cold frame and heat lamp wasn't enough to keep it warm.

I have two going in my patch. One took the worst hail damage out of all the plants. I lost the main and 5 secondaries on it. The larger plant I was going to pollinate this week but after the hail damage I am going to skip a week and try to grow more plant. I have females at 12 and 14 ft and may pollinate the one at 14 at the end of the week. It has been a steady grower, not the fastest in the patch but a nice healthy plant (minus the shredded leaves).

Average grower early on, filling in nicely now and building up some steam. Only one female showed at 11' on main that fried in the heat in early development similar to my 1725 and took 6 or 7 feet to throw the second one about 17 or 18. Hoping it too doesn't fry out in the heat in development. Took 23' to get one set on the 1725 last year. Maybe the case with the 1647 also here.

Thanks for the feedback. Wish I could have grown a 1647 this year but I'm very happy so far with the 1789 I've got going in the patch.
