Are there stats somewhere that show how far out on the main vine last year's top 10-20 pumpkins were set? How many secondaries there were before the pumpkin and how long those secondaries were?

This site has the distance on the pumpkins they do have, aggc.org click on a pumpkin for the info, it also has tree hiararchy, has the family tree of the pumpkin. pumpkinlink.com is a good site to. p.s. if you use the hiararchy tree and it does not align, do it twice and it works.

This is interesting. I was always concerned about my growing area at 700 square feet. It looks like you can grow a big one with that area. I am going to work on my main vine distance as that seems to have some merit. I'm usually about 8 feet out. Will aim for 10 or twelve.

12-15 ft. average is shown as ideal avg. world record range. 7oo sq. ft. is plenty of room for a world record.
