I think I started the seeds to late, and I just found out they can take weeks to germinate. Does anyone have a spare seedling I cab grow? I can pay for shipping. Or does anyone know a reputable seller where I can buy some from?

They took about 8 days to see signs of life with emergence and 10 to 11 days to sprout and shed seed coats. You may have to continual add some moisture to your seed starter mix as I did eventhough the were under a humidity dome. I have 8 up out of 16 and they are tricky to start. If all goes well I will transplant them into 5 inch peat pots in a week or 2. I should have an extra one if all goes well and can try sending one through the mail to you. The seeds came from last years peppers from the plant george j. gave me that he bought and had shipped from a reputable dealer. I will ask him to post the place he ordered from as the plant he gave me grew very well for a friend last year that knows little about gardening and grew it in a pot.

I think one of them was starting to sprout when I looked this morning, but I still wonder if they will have enough time I think they are supposed to take 180 days + to fruit.

I would order from Cross County Nursery but there minimum order is 12 I do not want that many plants.
@ Shazzy Thanks for offering to send me a plant, If I can't find somewhere to buy just 2 or 3 plants I would greatly appreciate it.

For those germinating the ghost peppers at this time, here is what I found out in my first year sprouting these tricky seeds. I just googled and saw several links that said they can take up to 30 days and beyond to germinate. I placed 2 seeds per pot and tried 16 pots and had at least one seed sprout per pot. 8 out of 16 both came up eventually. Of the 24 that came up total so far, 4 could not remove the seed coat themselves. One out of those 4 I successfully helped remove the coat mostly by luck as a squeezed the hardened shell slightly and then moistened it and pulled. I used the same method as I do AGs and tomatoes detailed in the recent post on general message board titled "soaking time" or something close to that. The only difference is I had to add more moisture as my initial moisture got used up even with a humidity dome after 7 days. They day after that second moistening I saw signs of life. Tough buggers but that is what I learned first year trying.

Also, with 150 to 180 days until fruiting, we here in Joliet are growing all of them in large pots so the plants can be brought indoors and outdoors in september, october, november...how ever long it stays warm enough. If you have a high pressure sodium grow light you can keep them fruiting then too if too cold.

Another FYI...do not try to help them twice the seed coats....the 2 I left alone took 4 days to finally shed them on their own.
