Any opinions on why the 1421 does not seem to command the same attention as the 1725.According to the aggc the 1421 is behind both of the last 2 world records and more of the 1700+ club including the freak. I know there are more 1421's that come up for sale but over the last few years there has lots of the 1725 come up for sale. Does that alone account for the price difference or are there more forces at work here?

Prob. supply and demand.Quite a few 1421's still exist- not a lot of 1725 h's left. I think demand is similar

That probably accounts for most of it. I'm just wondering what makes a seed hot. Seems there is always a hot seed every year even though there are other big ones with similar or same genetics (including the new seeds).

spudder, usually seeds get greater in demand based on a few things
1. past results-what it grew or how it grew for established
growers
2. history of the parents-both proven equals little chance
for failure
3. availability of seed once it does become in demand.supply
and demand will always control the market price-on
anything
