Hi GWG Members: We are very happy to announce that Lloyd Bright of Hope, Arkansas, is our 5th committee member. For those who may not know, LLoyd and his dad grew a 200# world record watermelon in 1979. Lloyd also grew a 268.8# world record melon in 2005 that held the record until 2010. Thank you Lloyd for joining us on the committee and there is no doubt that you will be a great asset in helping this club grow

I have never grown watermelons because I thought the temperatures required might be higher than what we get here in Pennsylvania and also because I know nothing about it and also don't have any space. I applaud the watermelon guys for getting their thing going. Marv

Marv, the second largest watermelon ever grown was the 285 Edwards grown in Michigan. I think it gets plenty hot enough up there for you to grow a giant watermelon. You'll never know until you try. :o)
