If I seed alfalfa outside the hoophouses and kill it with round-up as the pumpkins grow out, will I see a benefit this season? Thanks Bill P

I would use a pea or legume and save money...Alfalfa takes to long to establish...I agree with Amelio's answer must be close to spring

Alfalfa have such deep roots too.....I have sprayed them only for them to give me the green finger back....

Bill, from what I've read, alfalfa needs to be grown for at least one season, preferably 2, to get the full benefit of growing it. Plus it's finicky.
