For those of you that were not in Las Vegas for the anouncement.
the 2012 Featured Vegetable is Field Pumpkins
what this means is: The largest Field Pumpkin grown in 2012 will receive an added bonus of $1000.00

Good luck to you all.

In the event of 2 or more fruit equalling the same size, as we know can happen. The prize of $1000.00 will be divided.

So if you are #1 next year in field pumpkins and weigh your entry at a GPC event you get the following:

$100 GPC prize money (heaviest at all GPC events)
$50 bonus money assuming it's a WR
$1000 GPC BONUS for featured vegetable

Total potential prize money $1150.

I am not sure of the GPC definition but a Field Pumpkin is a C Pepo, with a hard stem with 5 sides, turns from green to orange.

So, all field pumpkins are C. pepo and not just any pumpkin grown in a field excluding Atlantic Giants. Thanks.
