Do they sell plastic mulch that is about 25' by 25' anywhere? I used plastic mulch last year in my watermelon patch and it worked great. The only problem I have had is I can only find it in thin strips that are 3' by 50' and it does not look visually appealing when it has gaps in it and blows all over the place in the wind, also I have to use a ridiculous amount of garden staples to secure it.

Try your local Lowe's or Home Depot. They have some wider pieces I believe.

If you use plastic you want it to be UV film. The stuff at Lowes or Home Depot will deteriate after a few months. Find a local greenhouse getting rid of there old covering..You will have more plastic than you know what to do with

The black plastic that I used to purchase from Lowe's lasted for years.
