1972 I was 10, allowance was 50c and occasional pay for extra chores. We remodeled front shed (east and south windows) into seasonal greenhouse in 68, remodeled it again and wintered stuff in it. (Poor Dad and his attempts to grow/keep fuschia alive...)

In 1972 I cut lawns in a trailer park & trimmed the grass around the skirting with hand clippers for 3 bucks a lawn.about a 1.50 per hr cash.I cut enough to buy my own lawn mower & a 100$ minibike.I have got a raise since then.LOL,the hard work payed off!

In 1972 I was walking uphill both ways to school in either waist deep snow or mud. Had to shoot a rabbit on the way if I wanted to have lunch and.got 1 Lays potato chip and was thankful for it. Those were the days.

In 72 I was in 9th grade and broke my femur playing king of the hill ( I lost ..lol..) 6 weeks in the traction in the hospital total bill for everything $1600..40 years later that probably would cost $250 000..makes you wonder
