Do any of you know of anyone doing what we love to do most, but growing them in Thailand? My nephew has been growing A.G.'s in Swissvale, Co. for a couple years and loves it. In June he's moving to Thailand. It would be great if there's anyone there who he can compare notes with!

I think many have tried, but few have succeeded in growing these in the tropics. It seems that they should do great, but the experience has proven otherwise. I would really like to see someone grow 700+ in the tropics and show us all how to do it.

Thanks Country, I'll check out that diary. If any of you know, or know of Aaron Burkert, he's listed as Hawaii's state champion at 1023 lbs. in 2009. Very, very impressive! I would think Hawaii almost has to be a tropical climate, unless he's growing them at considerable altitude there!

Yes! Aaron went by the screen name of 'pumpkindork', and has a short diary from 2009. 1023 pounds on the island of Maui is awesome. No word as to what elevation it was grown at.

if you can grow them in alaska? you can pretty much grow them anywhere. just depends on how dedicated you are and how you handle climate and conditions.
