For those have been through it, how long did it take? In my case, they're talking about 6 weeks of radiation with chemo. Then another round of chemo after I'm done with radiation. But they're not saying how long I might be looking at all together. I'm curious how it actually turned-out for those who've been through it?

Another funny thing is, the better news I get, the more grief sticken I feel. It was like when I was told I had lung cancer I held my breath. Today I was told again the tumor is responding well and shrinking. It's like I can breath again and instead of feeling like jumping-up and down, I want to cry. Make sense?

G-Jack, Right now I have two family members who have cancer. One last week was told she had days to live. Then they came up with some new treatment and she is still with us. My other cousin went to Florida for some new treatment and she looks like it might help. All you can do is pray for the best and make sure you surround youself with people who love and care about you. I hope and pray all the best for you. God bless-Don

My Good friend Tammy her Mom had terminal cancer was told she had 6 months to live.Tammys friends all told her to make plans for her death.Tammy told them all "you dont know how good my God is".They all felt bad for Tammy & thought she was over the top with her faith,Tammy continued to pray daily & keep insisting her mother was going no where. That God was going to heal her.2 years later the doctor asked her mother if she believed in divine intervention. This was 6 years ago.Emma is doing great.I want to cry just telling you what I witnessed.God Is Good! Keep on praying!

It does make sense Jack. I think one big aspect of sickness and disesase is the mental side. You have to fight even what you are thinking and what you are feeling. Sometimes just knowing that others are going through the same things as you, can help. Maybe try checking out some message boards and chat forums online . Where people have cancer or are going through it.

Sounds like your prayers are being answered. You should get your self on a excersise program (if not already)daily or 3 times a week, does'nt have to be alot, eat healthy.

Jack:

As a prostate cancer survivor, I only had radiation.

Stay Positive and believe you will beat it.

Everyone reacts differently and this is just one opinion.

Thanks everyone. There aren't many support groups in my area. I did find one, but it's just starting-up. I'm finding it difficult to get questions, concerns and fears answered. I appreciate everyone's replies very much at this time.

My wife went through a battle with breast cancer last year. Surgery, followed by 6 months of chemo and radiation. We never felt more scared than when we got the diagnosis. As we went through treatment, we found that taking things one day at a time, with the right support, it's possible to get through it. My wife is now cancer free. We were so grateful that we have decided to participate in a cancer walk to raise funds to help those that will be facing this terrible disease in the future. If anyone would like to support our efforts, please visit the link below. Thanks, and God bless you.
