Time to make a post on behalf of our dad - Howard Dill. First, what would he think or have to say about today's World Record weights? The success of the GPC and where they are today with so many sites World-Wide. We started with four sites in 1993....myself, Tom Norlin, Mike Green and some old fellow from Middlesex, MA - Mr. Hugh Wiberg! Yet, saying this , kudos have to go to Ray Waterman who between him and dad got this party started! Happy New Year Everyone! Danny and Diana

Danny,
I'll never forget you as a 17 yr old boy, your older sister, Maureen and your younger brother and sister - Andrew and Diana when we first met during our visit in 1982. Your Mom and Dad were great hosts and by then already icons of Atlantic Canada! I know your Dad would say well done! I hope all remember him when the first 2,000 lber is grown! He will always be the "Pumpkin King"!

Nice post Ray. Howard was "the man" plain and simple. I wonder if he told you the story of an over zealous grower who blew up his only pumpkin around mid September. After hearing my story he not only helped me load a 100 lb. big zac into the back of my 95 Dodge Caravan, he only charged me $15. My kids who were still young at the time thought I was the man.
Happy New Year Danny and Diana, you guys rock!

"Dill" was the Rock star in my 12 year old world. Those were the first 2000 lbers I ever laid eyes on 25 years ago, perception is everything.
A single seed has been responsible for which college I chose, my occupation, my choice in property...heck even what kind of girl I married. What a year...what a Life! The Dills have definitely enriched mine, thank you:)

I'm a newby in this hobby thanks to a few growers in this area that planted the seed in my head 3 years ago. Congratulations to the Dill family and all the founders for making at all happen. Happy New Year. Pat Watson
