I have 6 spots for next year. I'm planning to grow: 1678 Hunt 1676 Checkon 1674 Marsh 1662 Stelts 1548 Marsh 1531 Haist with 906 Watkinson and my own 908DMG as backups.
as a second year grower, I hoping to make fewer (or at least not the same) mistakes as last year and do justice to these seeds.

I might be building a new house over the summer so it's up in the air if I'm able to grow this year but if I do I am growing my 895 ( wallace 1288 x stelts 1421) and a 1495 Stelts. If I do build this place space will be ample & more plants each year will be in my future

I have 2 spots for main and several "wherever I can squeeze them in" for backup and pollinators. Line up is tentative but so far: 1462 Holland-1092 Martin x 998 Pukos 616.5 Gerry-842 Eaton x Self 972 Holland-1180 Pukos x 1725 Harp 485 Johnson-1233.5 Reiss x 983 Pukos 346.5 Duffy-959 Wentzell x 670 Daigle
This is probably it for me but I have 17 other seeds that I might start just for more backup. If there is anyone in the Baker City Oregon area that would like some seed or plants my e-mail is [email protected]. Just mark subject line as "seeds" so I can fish it out of my junk mail.

I really like the trend I am seeing. A lot of people growing their own seed in at least one plot. Imagine how much more data we would have if everyone out there planted at least one of their own seeds.
I myself have learned from MASTER SANDBAGGER Kevin Snyder. I will only reveal at this time that I am planting two 811 Gerhardts.

I'm happy to see that Glenna's 1244 is going to see dirt in patches other than her own. When I first saw that pumpkin, I knew had to get some seeds.

1230 Gerchy, a 1207 Young x 1495 Stelts cross 1167.5 Gerchy 1288 Wallace toss-up between Don's 1168 and Quinn's 1596

3 plants and if all goes well with germinations and no early signs of double vining, then these are my 3 top choices. 1. 1647 2. 1789 3. 1807
All backups to be planted next to prime plants listed above will be 1135 Sliwka 2010 plants (985 Werner x 1119 McMullen) great cross, produces heavy and white, and the 1135 was grown in a community garden with hand irrigation only (hoseless...hand watering with sprinkling cans due to community garden rules). It had disease pressure and insect pressure to the max with the community gardners using organic methods or not spraying at all. No misting system used in a hot hot summer that was only a tad cooler than 2011. There was definately some magic in that 985 that grew the 1135.
Others that will be started with initial germinations to keep as set aside backups incase the dreaded corn seed maggots attack again will be some 1209 Shenoha, a 1303 Sweet, and 1560 Urena. These will be given away to other illinois growers if not needed.

I'm Gonna try to plant the 1789 Wallace, I have room for really only 2 plants. So Putting the plants in the proper place is important. My backups will be my 906 and other top notch seeds. This year I'll be concentrating more on the soil rather then the genetics. However I do think the 1789 will be the next hot seed.

Cool I found a competition I could compete in The Cheech and Chong Award. Or I may try for the biggest ugliest Pumpkin ever grown. With 1674 Marsh and 1675 Hopkins I think it would be cool to try.
