Hi All,
Whats the latest opinion on pruning strategies?
Traditionally I have removed every second secondary on each side of the standard Christmas tree.
I am at the stage to do some serious pruning and would like to hear others strategies.
My first plant has a main of about 12ft with no pruning done yet and most secondaries and mains buried.
Cheers

This year I have kept all the secondaries, and I was happy with them. Will do it the same way next year.

Thanks,
Thats where I am at at the moment, I have broken one off, it doesnt look like I will have a kin (or possibly squash) till about 14 - 16ft.
the plant looks very good and should fill the space nicely.
Cheers

I think http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=3&p=387240 is one of the greatest treads covering (new?) pruning strategies.

What would be very interesting is to hear especially from the HHs, what kind patterns and pruning startegies they have used after the fruit with what kind of observations. And Joze to shed some more light on the theory vs practice after the season.
