Wow! What would Howard think. I recall back in 1989 when Gordon Thomson of Hemmingford, Quebec set a world record at 755 lbs. Dad said, "It was the shot heard round the World!" Hard to believe it was 22 years ago.
Anyhow, congratulations to Jim and Kelsey and the Prince Edward County Pumpkinfest. There's still a few more weigh-offs to go. Keep your fingers and toes crossed.

i was there at collins ny twenty two years ago. yes it was a great feeling just to be part of a world record happening.

being in attendance when a wr is weighed is an event every grower should get to experience at least once in their lifetime.

Well said Pap....it was an experience unlike anything I have been part of in this hobby....I will remember and cherish the moment for a long time to come!! And....this could not have happened to nicer growers...Jim and Kelsey and the Quebec continent are great people!!

Danny,Diana, and Pap,--It is an amazing thing to behold when you happen to be at the place and time when a new world record is set! I will forever remember Ruth Gallagher's scream when Norman's 612 W.R. hit the scales at Half Moon Bay in 1984! What a thrill! (I recorded that moment on VHS & have it somewhere--I wish I knew exactly where!) Congratulations Jim and Kelsey! May you fully enjoy being on top in an ever changing move upward in pumpkin weights!

Extreme congrats to awl for posting!!! Closest I ever was at Indy, w/ Joe Richards!!! Obviously a life time experience!!! Any possibility, that someone w/ skills, could put together a year by year exposition of world records being broken on video!!! Would have to start w/ Howard's intro of course!!!
