I have been in contact with National press coverages of over 62 affilates. I am not KIDDING>.......

This year has the potential of being our best GPC year ever and make Great Pumpkin Commonwealth HISTORY lighting a fire under our sport.

PRESS RELEASE

“Reset the scales to 2500 lbs.”, came from the President of the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, Dave Stelts from Pennsylvania, as growers in Canada, Europe and across the US prepare their pumpkins to tip the scales. Who will break the World Record of 1810 set last year by Chris Stevens? Never before have we seen so many potential fruit that tape record inches and have the potential to make Great Pumpkin Commonwealth history.LIGHTS CAMERAS ACTION

Working with the GPC this year is Karen Daubmann, Director of Exhibitions and Seasonal Displays at the The New York Botanical Gardens, where the top three in the US will be featured on display as we watch master carver and two-time Food Network Challenge winner Ray Villafane transform pumpkins into monsters!

Thank You ahead of time for your work.

Media and Marketing Director - Great Pumpkin Commonwealth

We'll see, but I have a feeling after this weekend 2000 will be an afterthought and 2500 will in fact be the next milestone. I'm not necessarily saying we will weigh 2000 this year, but I think we'll be close enough to know it's going down in very short order.

In the PNWGPG we got a new scale 2 years ago. Certified to 2500 lbs. in .5 lbs. increments. When we brought it, I said that I would have a heart attack if someone broke 2,500 lbs. LOL
