Giant pumpkin community. The New Bremen Giant Pumpkin Growers need your help. We sponsor what we call the New Pumpkinfest. This year includes a Regatta down the Miami-Erie Canal, our unique Pumpkin Go-cart Race, and this year's special attraction a Monster Truck Pumpkin Smash. This crazy line-up attracted a film production crew from Denver, which are making a program for the Weather Channel called PumpkinPalooza which will be aired on Oct 17th. They will be here filming these events, plus the weigh-off. We need pumpkins for the weigh-off and need pumpkins for the Regatta, Go-carts, and Smash. Our area was wiped out with diease this year. We really need your help. If you donate to cause, we will give you $100, free food, and beer tickets. Don't forget we give $100 appearance fee for anything over 1,000 lbs. We are trying our best to put on the best show possible showing positive light on the giant pumpkin growing community. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Hello,

Is the giant pumpkin regatta open to anyone? I noticed on the schedule of events it has the regatta at noon and the weigh-off at 1 pm, is this a misprint? it seems like the pumpkin should be weighed before it is cut open and used as a boat.

Our idea when this was we would try to use previously weighed pumpkins. Now what we may do now is weigh the pumpkin before 1 or delay the regatta till right after the weighoff. Good questions. Come on up.

Good luck on getting bodies and kins rounded up. If your filmcrew was like the one we had here last week, that much will slow you down. Be prepared for it. They were great guys, but filming takes time and sometimes they need repeats and closeups. Hope it all goes off for you and you have a great time!
