What are some of the largest wheel shaped pumpkins ever grown? Have they gone heavy? I know that the 1446 Eaton was wheel shaped and went 20 percent heavy. What are some other big ones?

The two biggest (slanted) wheel pumpkins we have had in Europe both went very light. One measuring 1659 lbs went more than 9% light and one measuring 1495 lbs went more than 13% light.

I had a wheel on my 1421 last year, it went 5% heavy to 1184...it split at 46 days old...Wheels tend to have small internal cavities...

Russ, I think my 1561 was the largest SS ever? 131. I think it was 1% light. It was alllllll wheel for sure.
That said mine was all 998 Pukos which was commonly to chart.
Your pupmkin had it looked like 1231 I'd guess would be to chart, but since it looks nothing like a 1231 I'd think has at least a chance to have some % heavy (1450).
Good luck!

Check out the 1332 Werner from 2005, this is the best upright wheel I have seen. pretty amazing to see a wheel that tall standing straight up, and it's orange.

I don't have any specs on the fruit going heavy or light.

This one had to be 5 1/2 foot in diameter.I guess you could call that a wheel that fell over.Gary Adams grew it from New York I believe. It is hanging over both sides of the scale by 8-10 inches.
I just realized that my diary post says he got 3rd place. That was wrong, he was somewhere in the top 10.

My 1399 last year was a ribby wheel that only taped 385 OTT but was 17%+ over the charts. All the air in the measurements was between the ribs - there was a very small cavity. If it thumps like a rock, it probably is....

?, is it still a wheel, if it lays down on it's stem end?, blossom end is up? What I mean is, if you stand it up on it's edge...stem to one end and blossom to the other...a bird bath would be a wheel? Yes/no? Peace, Wayne PS...and how do you measure cc, ss, and ee on these Slungers?
