With all the posts here on BP re: heavy fruit i could not find anything resembling my ?.
If you dont see much in the way of external cir or OTT growth but the fruit is healthy and the plant is healthy could it be developing internally in term of density/weight. Obviously the growth will slow this time of year but what about july and august.

Have those who have grown really heavy fruit(>15% heavy)noticed any periods where the observeable growth slowed/stopped only to resume later, (possibly internal growth?)
thanks jeff

This isn't a direct answer but for those who have grown on scales I'm told that when the inches stopped the increase of weight also stopped. I've seen two different growers state that who have grown on scales.

They probably do not grow in the inside. The cavity gets bigger and bigger as they grow outward. I don't think they would suddenly start growing reverse.

Maybe the moisture content could increase inside the pumpkin?

Ive had pumpkins every year that have stopped growing sooner then expected. When cutting them open I found calcium like balls in then. All of these pumpkins have gone heavy. I think once it stops growing it stops you may get some water and other stuff still going tp the fruit but I do believe the cavity of the pumpkin stays the same size. Thats how I see it anyway. I have no science to back it up.
