not going to break any records with this one, but the color is pretty darn good, and the genetics are there as well. 1468 stevens x 1725 harp

Mr. Roba himself from the Roba farms weighoff in NE PA today had a very nice looking orange one grown off the... 218 Sandercock which remains a very consistent orange producer. It won the HD award and I think it was around 520 I'm sure we will see pics soon. It was an odd take on the HD award selection with having a non-pumpkin grower walk around and decide which one was the best in show. I think about 95% of us agreed with his decision! Not to disregard Mark Lengel's (don't hold me accountable for inaccurate weights) 1047.5 grown from a Glenna Rea seed! Very nice pumpkins I'd be proud to have either in my patch.

I'm kinda partial to this one for some reason. Put on another 120 lb since this pic. Blossom end split a few days before the pic.

Agreed the 1114 Faskell was very nice. Probably the 2nd best I've ever seen though behind the 1290 Poiror. Mikes had better shape though.

Chris and Joe....thanks for the kind words! I totally agree with you Chris....the 1290 Poirier was by far the prettiest pumpkin I have ever seen. In fact... that pumpkin, is what inspired me to get into this crazy hobby! :)

OkieGal thanks. but why is it called sandbagging, and did you have to throw in the burlap bag pile, more confusion?

Just wait 'til the fat lady sings at the MAGPG weigh-off October 15th in Doylestown, PA. From what I'm hearing, the orange ones will make your eyes hurt there.

To our southern hemisphere friends: sandbagging is a term for pretending you dont really have anything special and then showing up at the weighoff with a monster pumpkin or maybe in this case a real nice orange one.
To all: talk is cheap. See you with your orange pumpkins at doylestown Oct 15 if you got the balls! Remember: $500.00 to the Howard dill winner this hear courtesy of the MAGPG and shady brook farms.
