I vow to be more patient this year following the weigh off and I hope others will as well. There is no one in a bigger rush to get my junk loaded and get the heck out of dodge than me but keep in mind, when the weigh off concludes, it's the first opportunity for your equipment operators to have lunch, potty break, smoke break, etc.
At some weigh offs, the equipment operators own the equipment and they furnish their equipment, time and fuel at no charge...consider a small tip if you win some prize money.

Please consider volunteering at all the weigh off you attend. The more help there is the smoother things will go. No complaining if you don't help!!!!!

Excellent post...Not sure about awl weighoff sites...but positive about BWF!!! W/out volunteer help...it would not happen!!! Locals & non Locals show up every year & help out!!! w/out the volunteers, even the small weighoff at BWF, would be a mess!!! Keep up the good work, and to any & awl who go to a weighoff, find the folks in charge & ask if you can help!!! Could be wrong if at a major, major site!!! but if at a smaller site? Who knows who you might get to know!!! Peace, Wayne

loading pumpkins and cleaning up always seems to be a bit like a mad dash to the free buffet line. last year at our sngpg weigh-off pumpkins were loaded just after being weighed. ------------- worked out real well. no fighting darkness, more time for the awards cerimony and the growers seemed to like the idea as well.

A few years ago there I had noticed that many vendors and spectators didn't really bother with throwing their trash away. I began to pick up the area and arrange things the best I could. Now I bring extra trash bags, gloves and a rake. Common courtesy to the club, growers, farm and spectators goes a long way to help make the weighoff fun. I'll see you all at Freriches Farm this year from my route 95 post! Lol!
