Im new to growing big pumpkins and gave it my first real shot this year. I know seeds selection is a big part of geting a big pumpkin. This year I found Dills atlantic giant seeds at the local store and gave them a shot. I ended up with three pumpkins all nice size but not nothing to brag on. Next year I will move the patch to the far side of the garden were there is a lot more sun, I will also prep my soil this fall and get it tested to make sure I have the right soil mix, So then I just need to find some good seeds I am planing on buying some from the dills web sight. Is this a good idea or should I look else were. Thanks

You can get seeds right here on this site,,, all you have to do is ask,,, But your are talking after all the weigh off are done.

Frank is right about getting seeds right here on BP, though howarddill.com is an excellent site to buy from. The genetics at Dill's website are far superior than store bought seeds.

ripin, you are on the correct site...for incredible seeds....wait a month or three, and check out seed exchange thread on this site...lot's of incredible genetic crosses will come onto that thread...for the price of a SASBE!!!(Self Addressed Stamped Bubble Envelope)~ A better idea than buyin awl them USPS stamps would be to look into a growers club near you...several in California, I think!!! Seeds will be acclimated to yer growin area!!! Or, wait till the auctions start, and get yer Wallet out!!!LOL!!! Peace, Wayne

Put down your fishing pole for a day, and come to the elk grove weigh off on OCT.1. Lots of huge pumpkins and ya can talk to the growers of them. You can learn alot at this event. Ron root

thanks ron I think I can put the rod down for a day. I wanted to go the HMB weigh off but its on a mon day need to work so elk grove is for sure thanks.
