Being my first year of growing I was wondering what I will be like at it years from now and that got me thinking about the AG community. Anyone interested in answering:

1. How old were you when you got into pumpkin growing?
2. First weighed pumpkin and year
3. Biggest to date

Cheers

Hi Dandytown,
I did enjoy reading the various entries in this post, so thanks alot for starting this page, and I keep my fingers crossed that many more growers will join. Also, I wish you all the best with your pumpkin. 250 lbs isn´t 500 lbs yet, but I´ve had a look at one of my pumpkins which I had measured on day 67. Since day 54 it had added 27.5% of its day 54 weight (according to OTT). May the next two weeks also add another 27% to your pumpkin (to make it 319 lbs), and it will probably grow for another two weeks thereafter (to 350 lbs?). This will make your pumpkin very safe, nobody would be able to carry it away (by hand) overnight. Also, there´s always a chance of having a heavy one, things like 29% heavy may happen (http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=168620), ...still a chance to have a 450-pounder. Good luck!
