I have my own data to refernece .but was curious what others feel is a good day 50 OTT ..I know about the benchmarks but I am more interested in what day 50 OTT's ended up with as final weights...I am asking this because my fruit are behind on all the benchmarks..but by my personal data they will reach my goals based on previous years data. Example..my 1248 was 805 lbs on August 15th..this year I am at 850 lbs...all things status quo I would figure 1300 lbs is attainable...Let me know if others analyze growth in a similar way... Mark

mark, my best data (from 2007) is hardly conclusive, but my 1249 on day 50 (august 23) was taping at 356" or 954#. My 934 was taping 354" or 854# on day 50, (august 31). Scott

My 1286 from 2010 was only 317" on day 50. Benchmarks don't work for me in California.

Only 317" wow. Weather must be more of a factor than age.

The reason I posted was my 1246 and 1248 from past years were @ 850 - 900 lbs at day 50..BUT..they had disease issues in the plant and were very slow growing the rest of the way to weigh off. What I was trying to find out was...if a plant is healthy..are my benchmarks lower than what others get for the last 6 week...Thanks everyone..Mark

Also..I am trying to find out if my patch size is the limitting factor..my plants are only 400 sq ft and maybe I am at the threshold of what I can get out of this number of sq ft..Maybe expand the patch???

The patch size thing is a touchy subject. It is sort of like talking to a soybean farmer. Some grow them in narrow rows and others in the traditional 30" rows. Which do better?? Some years there is an advantage in yields either way depending on weather weed control, harvesting conditions ect. So to ask what is the proper size patch I think carries way to many factors to give a perfect answer. You will get alot of different opinions on this i'm sure!!!

I think for a crack at 1500 you need to be taping at least 1000 at D50....most of the time. I believe Christy's WR actually taped under (but real close) to 1000 D50. That was a cold July though.
Hopkin's 1675 was about 405" D50. Crazy yes.
