Dont cut it the vine will send juice back to your pumpkin and help keep up the weight gains. Espically when its late in the season the newer parts of the plant really help it to keep putting on weight.

Then again some of the energy that is passing by your pumpkin to make new leafs, vine , roots , etc. could be going straight into the pumpkin if you removed the vine past the pumpkin a little at a time . Try it on one of your other pumpkins if you have any spares and see what you think .

We will see how this works on Melons as I have let plant grow after fruit!with the healthiest young leaves Ive ever seen,Plant still growing & will continue to end of season!Melon growing as fast as anybodys out there! So no benefit seen from terminating yet! Some Kin growers let a vine continue to grow till Sept>

Well, mine is doing OK and I accidentally pruned the main vine weeks ago.
