To those of you who are growing the 1325 Hopkins how is it growth wise (Weight gains)? What is the shape? Is it cantaloping? Also what did you cross into it and vise versa? My 1325 is doing very well and is the last one I have. Mine was shelfed and is canaloping alot which I hope is a good sign.
One last thing, does anybody know what type of weight gains the 1675 Hopkins was doing in the end of August and Sepetember?

MG chris s. can give you all the exact #'s.He said the hopkins plant stump foamed in mid august.Went from 38 /lbs day down to 12 and then back up to 18 right after the stump foamed up-something like that.Saw your diary-looks similar to the hopkins fruit-nice pumpkin!!!

couldnt get one started on it right away then one took on side vine x 1236 harp and is kind of deformed. my N ended up being about 6x what i wanted so that might have caused some problems. but its 480 now doing around 12-15lbs a day. i gave up on plant around july 15. since august came it has 3 more that are growing and all seem to have a little different, much nicer shape with same color id say a pale orange. i have picture in my diary of the 480lber and not the younger ones. im going to try to grow the 1325 again next year.

Wow, Joe has the facts in his mind better than me! Lol.
Anyway he is correct. I think Hopkins was sitting over 1300 by now. If you look at my diary from last year.....the beast with the cell phone on it was 1325 sitting at 1400. I'm not going to look so you can to see the date. It had already foamed by then and cut way back as stated above. I'd guess 1675 was estimating 1500 on September first and completely done by the 15th.
Yes it had a bigger OTT than 1810, but so have many other pumpkins.
Martin yours is quite possibly the most favorable shape I've seen on 1325. Though I know there are some big ones out there.

To say the least those numbers are amazing. My 1325 was doing very impressive early on also (36ppd) from day 21-33 before the whole stem was almost split/ripped in half, but a well know pumpkin grower helped me out, I cut a few vines and the pumpkin held although the growth dropped. Within 2 days I should be at XXXX. I will get a pic up tomorrow when I measure for day 50. Thanks Chris and also I heard you were growing the 1325 how is yours doing?

Yes lots of canteloping on mine...dont even know how an object that rigid can still be expanding...thats a whole topic in intself how these things still expand when they look fully grown is beyond me! Great slow and steady grower at 1200lbs currently!

My 1325 is the best plant in the field. Balanced and strong! The first pollination had the seed in the stigma but the second was perfect. The pumpkin at 74 days has an estimated weight of 1090lb, the shape is really perfect, the color is orange and sounds like a rock! I will grow the 1325 next year!
