Folks, newbie question: My hydroponic AG produced a 4 lobed pretty female yesterday, and I let the bee's do the fertilization. It has grown 1 inch in circumference in the following 24 hours (from the evening of the fertilization day to the next evening).
Two questions: -Since it grew a little, does that mean it was efficiently fertilized? -It's a pretty, shiny yellow, not green-any nutritional deficiencies here?
Many thanks!

I would think that is a little too early to tell. Likely 4 days of growing and a healthy skin would mean it was fertilized, but keep in mind that it can abort at any time after that. Just telling you how it is.

With regards to them terminating, I counted lots of young pollinated bon bon squash on two plants and they were all a good size which I assumned they would give a good yield. They stayed healthy looking for a long time but showed no sign of growing. Then they died. I guess I will always look for growth before counting my 'squash'

Thanks for the replies folks. Its been growing about an inch in circumference each day since it was fertilized 3 days ago. I'll keep holding my breath until next week! Don, take a look at a picture I posted a few days ago of my root system. The container that holds the main stalk and its roots is also in the picture. So, essentially, they are growing in a 1.25 gal. cylinder with constant supply of water, nutrients, aeration, H202 (0.1%) in everything. When I get the time, I'll try to start a journal here on the site and post pictures of the whole thing. Remember, I'm a newbie, so be kind!

AG's are yellow until they mature (some even then), they aren't green like field pumkins. And shiny is good... good luck
