Sorry this has nothing to do with your problem,But to gain 20lbs a day how much water do you feed it? I feed mine 35g a day is this to much?,Ok so I use two cups seaweed 1-1-3 and fish 30 oz in 35g every 3 days and I spray seaweed twice a week and fish once a week does this sound good Or I am I over doing it? my goal is 500lbs I am at 24 ott 189 = 153LB

I would try applying dry Captan and possibly using a fan. If you can dry it out, you'll most likely be okay.

Joe, sounds like you have stress on your stem, try this trick to see if you do, if you can wiggle the main vine and there is alot of slack on both sides where the main meets your pumpkin stem its probably not stressed, even the slightest tension will cause the stem area to crack.
if you think it has some tension on it, your pumpkin will move really easy if its already sitting on something like mill fabric, blue insulation board, etc , if it is, grab two corners of it and slide the entire pumpkin back towards(into) your main vine so it has more play. I have moved 1000lbs by myself by also just pushing back on them to slide it back towards the stem to take tension off them.when you do this do it little by little when moving it.

To answer these questions. I am watering 8o gallons a day. My root zone covers about 850 square feet. Fertilizing with 0-0-50. I don't think I can get captan in Canada. Would dry sulpher be a good substitute. I don't have stem stress- I took care of that right from day 20.

you can probably find captan as an ingredient rather than a sole product, but some of my gardening special sauces are a little old so maybe you can't buy it anymore. Look at the ingredients of fungicides.

I've dealt with a lot a wounds on the stem & have found that captan usually holds the moisture in & gunks up leading to more rot. It's best to clean out all decayed material spray with a peroxide mixture , allow that to dry & then dust with sulfer.

Fot the first week that may have to be repeated daily until the wound scars over completely
