what if this barrier was broken with a squash first? Would this prize go to that grower?

I'm curious, what is the prize for the first 2000 pound pumpkin?

If I break 2000 on my squash and don't get the prize we are going to have a real problem on our hands. Just saying, for the sake of the gpc figuring this out difinitively now before there's an issue.

The 2000 pound prize structure the GPC has is for pumpkins and not Squash. "clearly defined" Each are their own catagory. This year is the "year of the Squash" so there is an added prize for the largest Squash grown along with the regular Squash prize payouts. If you grow a 2000 pound Squash you will only be eligable for the Squash payouts, and not the pumpkins payouts.
