Milk with its' natural enzymes and simple sugar structures can be used to combat various mildews on cucumber, asters, tomato, squash and zinnia foliage. This works by changing the pH on the surface of the leaves, so they are less susceptible to mildew. Use a 10/90% mixture of milk and water. I.E.: To make 10 ounces of finished spray use 1 oz of milk to 9 ozs. water. Thoroughly spray plants every 3 to 4 days at first sign of mildews or use weekly as a preventative measure.

So what kind of milk 1,2,3%..???

I've heard whole milk because the extra fat content will help it stick to the leaves better. I speak with no experience, I've never sprayed milk. I use Daconil.

What does the PH have to be on the leaf surface in a rough guesstimate?

Reason why I ask this is , if the pH is low on a leaf surface and if that would be some of the causes they get mildew easier , then I wonder if CO2 /Livoth or even 0-0-25 (what Tom sells) would also help in preventing mildew? The PH in all of 3 of those products are high in PH. Would those also help Mildew?

I get out or short dated formula from the hospital I work at. Have used it very heavily but I haven't had any mildew issues at all. Maybe just beginners luck!!! BSD, David
