That is a studly looking fruit. And Ken 1810 had about 10 bulges like that all ripped open in the blossom. No worries there.
In response to Captain 97 my 1561 was 998# last year on D40.
I don't have exact numbers handy, but the 1675 Hopkins was over 1000 on D40. Pretty sure about 1100 actually and still doing 38# / day.

Ken's 1161 Rodonis pumpkin isn't getting any love in the patch. The 1520 Sperry is hogging most of the diary entries. ... poor 1161 Rodonis pumpkin.... to be in a patch with such a monster. :-)

Kidding aside, good luck Ken! I'm having a blast reading your diary and watching your monster grow.

Thanks guys. That is good to hear Chris. Did you just leave the blossom alone then and let the bulges grow into it?
I will post some pics of the pumpkin on my 1161 too. It is around 500 lbs. at 40 days.

Ken since it was so hot and humid and the blossom on mine was DEEEEEP I did run a fan on it for a couple weeks. I never did apply fungicide to that pumpkin last year. The splits in the shoulder looked nasty...and the blossom, but all healed and never any sign of rot. No cutting / scraping...anything.
I've got a bulge in the blossom of another fruit this year MUCH worse than the one in your picture and this one does make me a bit nervous :) Looks like a balloon ready to pop.
