I have a pumpkin growing on 100 sq.ft. The most it has ever gained in a day is 8 pounds and It is gaining an average of six pounds a day now. What can I do to get the weight gains up? Should I fertilize it more?

Did you get your soil tested? Have you corrected any deficiencies in it? How much are you fertilizing now? What kind of fertilizer? What the soil ph? Please don't jump the gun and start pounding your plant with fertilizers. You'll be doing more harm then good. WIthout a soil test things are hard to determine.

Plant might be too small to grow any more than that.

My PH is 6.5 and no I have not did a soil test yet. I need to do one thou. I have been fertilizing with kelp, azos, calcarb, and other organic fertilizers. I fertiliz every three days.

The way you get a big pumpkin on that size of a plant is keep it healthy,,low gains for a long time will be a big pumpkin. But I'm sure you knew that, yah you don't really want to fertilize,,however if you look at your plant closely you may be able to tell whether you could add some potassium, the leaves will be brown around the edges.. but if your plant looks okay I would not put nothing down. also with it being as wet as it was that may be the cause for your slight drop in gains.

Tough to determine why your pumpkin isn't growing fast. I agree that's a small amout of sq/ft and the plant must have a big root system to grow them Big. Something I learned was that its all about the soil and light. Get those two right and watch out!
