My pumpkin stood straight up like i have never seen , Most all on plant do the same , Anyways It split 1/3 then length wise too! that was 5 days ago it is now at day 14 & doing ok ,the split has scaring ,, Iv got some on secondarys but i think i would like to go with this one , Question , has anyone else grown any like that ,(sidways split ) ,, I wonder how stem works inside as you would think if partial split that would cut off part of pumpkin from being feed , But i see no differance on looks so far ! Any thoughts ??

my 1399 last year split 1/3 through the stem at about 15 days right at the stem/vine junction. This split opened up more as the fruit grew.... never slowed it down.

Keep in mind 40 pounds a day is only a slow drip through the stem....
