At this point on the main vine I have a basketball size fruit at 8ft, a baseball size at 12ft and 13ft a golf ball size. Would you still wait on the 8 ft or cull it if the others are set and taking?? Time is running out!!

I would wait, the kins at 12 and 13 feet are only about 6 or so days behind atleast by the size you gave. you can always go back to the 8' kin if you have to... but normaly the other two are on the vine at a better distance, for a bigger pumpkin. not to say the first one wont grow huge

I agree with Bill, wait awhile. Make sure your smaller 2 don't abort and then see which of the 3 have the best shape and growing fastest before making a decision.

if they all take, then choose. look for stem length or position to the main, fruit symmetry, and inspect stem closely for early possible stem splitters or irregularities...then go with your gut. 8' is a little closer but you could spider secondaries around cuz it is getting a little later like you say. if the 12 or 13 footers are nice, i would keep a good eye on them both and if 16" on day 7, you should expect 25 plus on day 10. culling is very hard. ultimately do not listen to anyone but your instinct. let them compete a bit to make sure none abort, then decide, take the knife, and cut 1/3 or half way through the losers stem one day, then continue and cut the cord. this ensures no overloads. the decision is yours and it ain't easy.
