This may sound like a common sense issue but....

What is the best way to spray without damaging the leaves?

being 6'5" i find it difficult to get in-out of the patch to spray the leaf above and below without damaging the leaves. In particular i seem to crack the center leaf support from the stalk to the leaf tip. My 870 wolf is a fairly low growing plant a bit easier to spray but the 1332 wolf is up to and above my waist in most sections hence most of the damage seems to be from me moving around in there. Thanks

if you plan on continuing to garden the best investment you could make is to purchase a motorized back pack sprayer. it eliminates just about all the need to walk inside the plant.

the pressure from the misting head also rolls over (a bit ) the leaves and so top and bottom of leafs get coated.

I agree 100% with Pap, I purchased a Stihl blower last season. Best investment I ever made, not only do you get excellent coverage, it cuts the time spraying down 75% also, compared to a pump sprayed.

Yup Jeff, a gas powered sprayer is worth the $$$$....no need to walk through vines and leaves at all.

I saw a cheap version of a blower at HD... It was a insecticide mister ($65). Don't know if you can use any liquid or just the special insecticide made for the machine?
