Noticed a 2" split already started to heal over with sap tonite while doing 20 day tape...197.5 ott on my 1662 Stelts pumpkin. Mounded sand around pumpkin 1/3 way up and girdled her with one of my lifting straps where you would make your circumference measurement...I'll keep you posted on hopeful success! Got nothing to lose at this point...LOL!

No further splitting after 3 days...whew! Strap needs to be loosened every 12 hours to keep from cutting into pumpkin!
