Damn...doesn't sound good...any sign of fusaria?? been in the same plot a long time? good luck...look for signs of rotten dots on the fruit..22 inches doesn't mean they got pollinated .... need to be at least beach ball size. GrowEmBig! Chuck

I think its just the weather. Your pretty close to me and your right about the weather. The Summer has been non existant thus far. My plant looks healthy as well. I have three on my main vine. The first is at 30 inches on day 23 the second is at 14.5 inches on day 13 and the third is at 7 inches on Day 5.

It may have aborted. Is the pumpkin still shinny? If the plant looks good then it sounds like the fruit aborted.

the fruit still looks glossy. Nitrogen may be a suspect because i have allot of vines splitting open

Dave, it's just the crappy weather we've been having this year in our part of the world. Our spring was non existant and the summer has yet to arrive. My plants also look good but my pumpkins are only half the size of last year at this time and last year was a poor growing year. No big 'uns this year I'm afraid.

Dave, my plants look great too but the pumpkins are behind previous years and it must be the poor weather like Jake said. With some better weather on its way, I don't expect to catch up but may still have some nice pumpkins to bring to Nanaimo again this year.

hey pap the risk is the reward.if you could chuck a seed in the ground and get 1000 pounds, every one would do it! the hobby does not suck, even though your luck can!!!

I too am late getting a decent pumpkin to set. Plant looks great, but not much luck in getting any pumpkins. I had 3 set and lost 2. Good thing I didn't cull any, at the time.

what else you gonna do pap? watch judge judy? lol. if anything at all at least i lose 25 pounds in the summer from the heat and the work and then i put it back on all winter waiting do do it all over again. lol. the challenge for me is the reward. i know that if i do everything i can in my strategy to fight mother nature and murphy's law....then no matter what happens in the end i feel at least i tried. too many times we look for the end result for justification when the labor of love is the underlying reason why we continue to pound our heads in the wall. ask j.d. 2 years ago why he grows when he put all that work in alaska to grow one plant that was sterile. then ask him again this year. keep the proverbial line in the water year after year and sooner or later you may catch the big one. or it might get away and flip off the hook. that is why it is called fishing and not catching. lol. keep fishing with us pap, we like your company in the boat.
