When do you think the best time is if any to terminate the main and dead head all vines.

I agree with abby. Terminating more than a couple of vines (1-2) per day is the most I will do anymore. Last year I lost my 901 Hunt pumpkin at about 200# after terminating 5 vines in a single day. I am convinced it was from my pruning strategy. I will never do that again. I will never terminate the main, unless I have extreme stress and this is my only option.
