I spray mine on with a gallon pump sprayer. I heard a few years ago that it raises the brie? levels in the leaves, and that helps to keep cucumber beetles away. I haven't had any in a few years if that helps.

I use it but you have to remember that it can attract aphids. You gotta check the undersides of the leaves periotically to see and ensure that the aphids aren't around. I use mollasses. It feeds the mycrobes and it gives the plant some sugars. I swear by its use and encourage anyone to use it.

I have talked to him about 3 weeks ago Cies, on face book, hes still getting around OK and uses a electric wheel chair when ever need be. Hes into photography big time now and mostly takes picture of his grandson at his sporting events. His Grandson is a hell of a athlete in all sports I hear. (His Grandson must have taken that after his grand pap Im guessing..LOL)

Docs still growing tomatoes though, along with some other small stuff, but as far as Pumpkins hes not as able as he once was to get out there and grow them.

Brooks - thx 4 the update on Doc. Glad that he gets in the garden still & kicking around. He probably takes some great pics I'm sure. Easier when you love your subject.

This should help you out with your ques. Joe.

Molasses, a product of the cane industry, is very high in natural minerals, enzymes, and amino acids. Combining pure feed-grade blackstrap molasses with any liquid and applying it to crops will increase sugar levels, thus improving plant resistance to chewing and sucking insects. Molasses is an excellent food source to energize the biological life in the soil.

Molasses added to spray solutions can stimulate the growth of beneficial microorganisms on the leaf surface. These friendly microbes help fight off the harmful pathogens. Whether this is provable or not is beside the point; just accept itCit works.

Spraying on damp, humid mornings or evenings increases the effectiveness of foliar sprays.
