was wodering if this growth rate might be to fast. It gained 17" or 43 lbs. in 24 hours and 84" or 150 lbs. since day 13 which is a 25 lbs. per day average but my concern is the 43 Lbs in one day. Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions.

we also have not had to water very much due to the rain keeping the patch very well saturated.

That seems a little large and growing quite fast. Youd have to really watch that. Whats the shape of the fruit? Doe your soil have enough calcium? I have a hog that growing quite well and I worry about the same issues that youre talking about.

Kenny the fruit is almost perfectly round and we should have plenty of calcium. Brooks the seed is 1592 Platte.

I had one at 214 inches last year at d20. It split on me due to poor shape. Ended up 1184 lbs at 46 days old. 48 lbs was the biggest gain in 24hours on her but like Chris said enjoy the ride!
