Set-out an AG plant in a position that would mean the vine would grow opposite first true leaf, etc. The main vine is now growing backwards over itself back towards the first true leaf. Any ideas what this about; causes; how to resolve and turn the vine back the way I need it to run...? I will also try to post a pic if I can. Thanks.

I had several grow backwards this year. Some grew 90 degrees off. I don't know what causes it but you can deal with it. You just have to gently train the main to run in the direction you want. Only move it a little at a time and only in the heat of the day. NEVER IN THE MORNING. I use fiberglass electric fence posts to direct the growing ends of the vines, and I bury the vines so they stay where I want them when the wind blows hard. The fiberglass posts are easily pulled up and moved as you need and shouldn't do any root damage. I can get them for less that $2 each at a farm supply store.

I get plastic coat hangers at the dollar store.Cut on the "V" on each side about 3-4 ins. Cheap and easy.
