Here in south eastern Massachusetts, I have yet to see a bee in my patch this year. This is somewhat disturbing. Any ideas?

They've been pretty abundant here - had 6 squeezing in a single male flower the other morning - makes it hard to get a controlled cross when you got them buzzing you when you try to open the Female so you have to be pretty quick to get her closed back up before one gets inside!

plenty bees here, bumble bees and honey bees. The patch is practically humming with them every morning.

I would welcome a no bee patch! Last year I was swarmed as soon as I uncovered a female to hand pollinate....

It seems to take a certain number of flowers before they visit. Then , wham, bees everywhere fighting for the flowers.

Yeah I don't get any bees working in my patch either until later in the season. I think they are working other things early on in the season.

No bees in my patch either. Last year I had so many ,I had to be careful not to get stung.I am not seeing them on the clover either.

Last 4 or 5 years I was lucky to have seen a honey bee,and then last year I started to see more of them here and there, and this year, there has been alot more in my patch, hopefully this is a good sign of the bees starting to come back from what ever was killing them over the years.

whats happening is there has been a rapid influx of new beekeepers, who want to "help the bees" I know my bee club has gone from 80 to well over 300 memebers in the last few years, and we just had 150 new people this spring. With a hive topping out at 60-70 thousond bees a hive, and 30k-40k foragers, its not hard to see a lot of em. We are still seeing massive hive losses all over the nation. I lost all of mine over the winter. One appeared to be colony collapse, where the entire hive of bees just gets up and leaves. I go through the hive and find 2 dead bees in the entire thing. They just dissapear, in the middle of winter! My other lossed were probly ppb(p*ss poor beekeeping). In my personal opinion, a perfect storm of pests, and dieseases, is what is killing them. Ill shut up now.

I have ZERO bees in my patch. My yard has tons of white-top clover in flower and I see none in there as well.
