I have 2 plants that I got an early start on. They both have a pumpkin around day 20 now.I am in a new plot this season and my fall test looked good. We had mega rainfall in April and May. Right now all my plants look great and are growing well, but my 20 day numbers are very small, comparing to last years pumpkins. They are twice as small as last years.
Could these pumpkins just be slow starters or is it likely that I am lacking something ?
If I was lacking something, wouldn't the plant show it?
Anyone ever have a similar experiece ?

Good point Don, No I did not. Last year my earliest was 6 days later. 6 days does not seem like too much of a difference. You got me thinking about last years weather now. We had an extremely warm and dry spring ( April and May ), totally opposite of this year. But,comparing my early plant last year to my early ones this year, they are very close in size. This June has been every bit as warm as last years June.Since I have pollinated on June 4th, we have only had One night below 60 degrees when I had to put a blanket out. I am concerned a bit.
