Well since my friend the Wiz.....has started a good post I thought "the heat" should get er done. Hows everyones 1610's doing. Mine is growing out of its funk. It appeared that the plant has an iron deficiency. The first female is at 8 feet, out and will be ready to pollinate in a few days. I may wait for another female flower further down the main but will pollinate just to make sure. The plant looks good despite the yellowing leaves around the veins. It appears that the 1610 is the most planted unproven seed out there. Thank Charlie for the seeds. This year appears to be exciting for genetics. The 1610's the 1520 Sperry, 1810 and 1495 Stelts. Good luck to all and may all recieve those countless blessings throughout the growing year! So fellow pumpkin growers, as my senior drill instructor used to yell out "Report your Post"

In addition to the how the plant is doing, what do all of the females look like? are they nice and round or long? I don't have any females on mine yet but it is growing good now after we've started having better weather. Still raining almost every day though so I'm still not sure how the season will turn out.

My 1610 is still the biggest plant of ours and is tearing through the patch. The plant is dense and throws a few double leaves or tendrils here and there but the main vine is completely normal. I should start pollinating in a week or so. The pumpkins I have seen are oblong in shape.

The females on mine seem to be longer then other females in the patch. Time will tell.

1325 Sperry is also a good one(reverse of 152O), its one of the best growers in my muddy, wet, soggy, dripping, mushy, soaked patch this year.

My 1610 is doing well. Main vine is out to 16'. I just pollinated first female at 11' on Wed. I have 3 more females from 13'-16' so hopefully I can get one of these to take. I did have a problem with the plant though. Side vines on the left side from 4-7' never grew and a few others on the right side terminated into blossom clusters!! Besides that, the plant is looking good and is very agressive with growth.

Way to go.....to get er done...HEAT!... My 1610....has smaller vineZ, and the main iZ growing fast keeping up with the rest of them she's at 10+ feet...Smaller leaves, nice and compact. Also growing the 1161 so I can compare nicely. PicZ in my diary with the twinZ...back to back females....first oneZ out too....yellow vine and nice roundish pumpkins. Going to have a nice shape as the butt and shoulderZ are going to be tall. Will breed more orange as I am using BiZ's 266 Grande ( 1204 Kline X 1016 Daletas (my 895 Grande) as the DAD....hopefull we should have some BIG SHINY ORANGE HEAVY GeneticZ to plant in 2012. More later......GrowZem BIG!

My 1610 is a nice plant, not the best grower in the patch to this point, but it's still early. I'm about 10 days from pollination on this one I would guess.

It is the smallest plant of the patch but is healty and catching up to the others. It is all from a slower start due to incomplete cot leaves in the seed.

1610 doing well. Big leaves, lots of secondaries. I still have a long way to go. The plant is only about 6 feet long. The weather here has sucked. This week looks much better and I expecting some explosive growth.

My plant is growing good, pollinated the first 10ft female yesterday. The only problem I have is the males are not growing or developing. None of my other plants are having this problem.
